Welcome to Fulton Science Academy's Admissions FAQ page. We understand that selecting the right educational environment for your child is a significant decision, and many questions arise during this process. To assist you in your journey, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I schedule a tour?
If you have not already done so, please complete an inquiry form. All tours are scheduled through the admissions system.
Can I bring my child on the tour?
Prospective students and their siblings are welcome on the tours, but they are not required to attend. It is a good opportunity for prospective students to become familiar with the school and for our staff to learn about you and your child.
I have Elementary, Middle and High School aged children. Is there one tour I can take that covers everything?
Due to the length of each tour and the size of the building, we can not combine the Elementary and Middle tour or the Elementary and High school tour. We do offer a combined Middle and High School tour several times a month.
What admissions tests do you accept?
We use MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) as our primary test for applicants applying for grades 1-12. The test is offered on campus and remotely multiple times per month from November through mid February. Prospective students applying for grades 1-5 must take the test on campus unless they currently live out of state. Applicants applying for grades 6 through 12 may take the test in person or remotely. We will also accept SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, SAT , Pre-ACT and ACT tests in lieu of MAP testing.
When are tours available?
Tours of FSA are available both in person and online from mid September through mid February. On campus tours are offered multiple times per week while virtual tours are generally offered bi weekly or monthly depending on need.
How long will the tour last?
Please allow 75 minutes for both the On Campus tour and Virtual tour options. The tour dates/times don’t work with my travel schedule/work schedule. What should I do? Please consider attending one of our Open Houses in December or contact Admissions at admissions@fultonscienceacademy.org to see about alternate dates or times.
Do you have an age cut off for Pre-K and Kindergarten?
Pre-K students must be 4 by the start of school in August and be fully toilet trained to enroll. Students should be 5 years old to enter the Kindergarten class but there is no official KIndergarten cut off. On rare occasions a student who is not yet 5 years old is accepted for early entrance to Kindergarten. Please be aware that early entrance students are expected to be performing at the top of the Kindergarten class, both in academics and behavior.
My child’s school uses MAP. May I submit those scores?
Yes! Outside MAP test results from testing done at accredited schools can be submitted in lieu of taking the MAP test at FSA. We do not accept MAP scores from testing done at academic tutoring agencies.
