Our Story

Named as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, recognized as a National Character School by Character.org, ranked as the #1 STEM high school in Georgia by Niche.com, and named Best K-12 Private School in North Atlanta by Appen Media, Fulton Science Academy Private School (FSAPS) offers Georgia students a transformative education.

A School with Much to Celebrate: Nurturing Excellence, Inspiring Growth, and Embracing Success

Fulton Science Academy was established in 2002 as a charter middle school. After 10 very successful years as one of the highest performing schools in Fulton County and earning the distinction as a National Blue Ribbon School, the school founders made the decision to transition to a private school to provide greater autonomy to the administrative team.

Opening as Fulton Science Academy Private School in 2012, the school began focusing on providing rigorous and innovative STEAM education to advanced and gifted students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Doubling its enrollment every year, the school quickly outgrew the converted warehouse and built a 72k sq ft state-of-the-art school on an 18-acre campus, including science and technology labs, art and music classrooms, a media center, a cafetorium, a gym, and a playground.

Opening for the 2015-16 school year, these new facilities enabled the school to begin offering classes to high school students. The school celebrated its first high school graduating class in 2019. Currently, we’re on phase three,  which includes adding an athletic field, greenhouse, innovation lab, observatory, campus fencing, and tennis courts. Our next development phase will add a fine arts center, including a 600-seat auditorium, film studio, and more arts facilities.

FSAPS serves a large population of advanced and gifted students in Pre-K through High School. As an accredited and STEM-certified school, FSAPS has a reputation for its exceptional academic results. Based on nationally normed assessment data, FSAPS ranks in the top 1% in all subjects across all grade levels in comparison to schools nationwide. This makes FSAPS an exceptional school choice for advanced and gifted students seeking a learning environment that challenges them to reach their full potential.

After many year of unparalleled success resulting in an extensive waitlist, FSAPS is now seeking to open a second campus in Georgia. As a non-profit institution, FSAPS is open to discussing opportunities and incentives with different cities and counties looking to offer a quality STEAM private school in their region. FSAPS is especially interested in locations where STEAM and gifted education are valued, and where there are currently limited offerings in these areas for local students. Land incentives and local government support will be important for the determination of our second location.

FSAPS provides its students with opportunities to collaborate, grow, learn, explore, and play in an environment conducive to fostering academic growth. FSAPS has developed a high quality advanced academic program emphasizing a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) curriculum and gifted education. FSAPS’s approach to learning utilizes hands-on, collaborative, and engaging instructional practices to better prepare students for life beyond FSAPS. FSAPS’s environment is structured to minimize distractions and stress while cultivating a strong work ethic, self-initiative, strength of character, and well-developed social skills.

FSAPS offers a daily character education program, which is facilitated by our Counseling Team and executed by classroom teachers. This curriculum teaches students how to develop the skills necessary for constructive and compassionate interactions with others, and the lessons are an integral part of every school day. Additionally, the high school program includes daily College Preparation Time, assisting the school in achieving a 100% graduation rate and a 100% 4-year college-bound rate with students attending some of the nation’s top colleges every year. Each year, 75% or more of FSAPS students are accepted to the top 50 universities around the nation, as well as universities abroad.

FSAPS emphasizes small classes and intimate student-teacher ratios. The small and structured environment allows students to focus on their studies within a supportive and collaborative culture. Since there are minimal disciplinary issues, the faculty and administration are able to invest their time into active, involved teaching and continuously improving their educational model.

The school considers the development of the whole student as important as academics. For a creative outlet, students take part in art, music, engineering, and computer classes every week. Additionally, the school offers enrichment opportunities in the form of an extensive range of free after school clubs, band, orchestra, theater, top-ranked academic teams, and champion sports teams to further develop students’ social skills. FSAPS is proud to have some of Georgia’s strongest academic teams that annually go on to compete at the national level.

FSAPS has fostered a “yearn to learn” culture where students embrace an innovative STEAM curriculum. The FSAPS student body is diverse and reflects award-winning academic teams, competitive athletes, personal entrepreneurs, and renowned critical thinkers. Built upon the core values of integrity, curiosity, advocacy, resiliency, and empathy, FSAPS has engineered a school of tomorrow, today.
