Fulton Science Academy was established in 2002 as a charter middle school. After 10 very successful years as one of the highest performing schools in Fulton County and earning the distinction as a National Blue Ribbon School, the school founders made the decision to transition to a private school to provide greater autonomy to the administrative team. Opening as Fulton Science Academy Private School in 2012, the school began focusing on providing rigorous and innovative STEAM education to advanced and gifted students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Doubling its enrollment every year, the school quickly built a 67,000 square foot state of the art facility on an 18-acre campus. Opening for the 2015-16 school year, these new facilities enabled the school to begin offering classes to high school students. The school celebrated its first graduating class in 2019.
Fulton Science Academy Private School was founded in 2012 as a nonprofit serving PreK-8. To enroll, students need to score in the top 15 percentile on nationally normed test. The FSA high school was officially formed in 2016, with the first senior class graduating in May 2019. Our high school is steadily growing. Our inaugural graduating class had 8 students and this year, our graduating class has doubled in size.
Fulton Science Academy Private School’s first six years (2012 – 2018) have been a journey of success. In six years, the school’s enrollment number has grown from 101 students to 605 students, making the school the fastest growing private school in the region. As of our sixth year, FSA ranks in the top 1% among all elementary and middle schools taking national normed NWEA MAP testing. In addition, FSA students represented the state of Georgia in eight different national and international competitions in 2018.
Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools adhering to a set of educational standards. The accreditation process is also known in terms of its ability to effectively drive student performance and continuous improvement in education. But such definitions, though accurate, are in complete.
