Welcome to all the FSA Families,
I am so excited to be the New School Nurse this year!Ā Ā
I graduated from Nursing School in 1989, and have been working ever since on my LPN degree.Ā I have worked in hospitals, urgent care, doctor offices, and a Preschool Director for a local Church.Ā I have been a School Nurse in Forsyth County for the past 11 years.Ā
I have taken time off with each of my children.Ā My husband Ray and I have been married for 29 years. We have 3 blessings, Nicholas is 26, Alexandra is 22, and Julianna is 19. I am also a first time Nonna, which is Grandmother in Italian. Nicholas and his wife Emily have a beautiful daughter, Addylin.Ā Ā
As your School Nurse, I am here as the health care provider in the school setting.Ā I assess sick students, provide first aid for injuries, attend to emergencies, promote safety and wellness for students and staff.Ā I maintain students Medical Health Care Plans and immunizations. We value education and I will encourage students to remain in school, or class, unless they have a serious injury, or an illness, that prevents them from attending school per FSA School Sick Exclusion List in your handbook.Ā Ā
Before school started this year, the staff was trained in CPR, AED, Emergency First Aid, with the use of and Epi Pen, Asthma, Universal Precautions and Choking.Ā We also established a First Responder Team in the event of a medical emergency.Ā
I am looking forward to an awesome year with all of you.Ā Any input is always welcomed, I have an open door policy.Ā Please let me know how I can help.Ā You and your children are the reason I am here.
Blessings,
Nurse Amy
