Welcome to all the FSA Families,
I am so excited to be the New School Nurse this year!
I graduated from Nursing School in 1989, and have been working ever since on my LPN degree. I have worked in hospitals, urgent care, doctor offices, and a Preschool Director for a local Church. I have been a School Nurse in Forsyth County for the past 11 years.
I have taken time off with each of my children. My husband Ray and I have been married for 29 years. We have 3 blessings, Nicholas is 26, Alexandra is 22, and Julianna is 19. I am also a first time Nonna, which is Grandmother in Italian. Nicholas and his wife Emily have a beautiful daughter, Addylin.
As your School Nurse, I am here as the health care provider in the school setting. I assess sick students, provide first aid for injuries, attend to emergencies, promote safety and wellness for students and staff. I maintain students Medical Health Care Plans and immunizations. We value education and I will encourage students to remain in school, or class, unless they have a serious injury, or an illness, that prevents them from attending school per FSA School Sick Exclusion List in your handbook.
Before school started this year, the staff was trained in CPR, AED, Emergency First Aid, with the use of and Epi Pen, Asthma, Universal Precautions and Choking. We also established a First Responder Team in the event of a medical emergency.
I am looking forward to an awesome year with all of you. Any input is always welcomed, I have an open door policy. Please let me know how I can help. You and your children are the reason I am here.
