FSA GENERAL MUSIC

Pre-K through Fourth Grade general music is a performance-based, interactive class designed to give students the opportunity to experience music in many ways. Students build on their music literacy skills. They learn the fundamentals of music theory, composition, and history. Students experience music as a soloist and in group performance through musical instruments, song, and dance. Third and Fourth Grade develop music language and notation skills in preparation for higher level instrumental/vocal learning. Fifth through High School level general music is an independent study, consisting of pre-college level music theory and music appreciation. Students experience theory fundamentals, aural skills training, and study historical figures and compositions of the Western Musical Arts.
