Congrats to our Math Department Chair , Ms. Sema Duzyol received the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator award. It is an award that recognises dedication,thoughtfulness and the impact a teacher makes on their students. More big award news, this time on the science olympiad front…Head coach Ms. Walsh shared that Navya Nori came in 4th in the nation in the Science Olympiad September My S.O. Stem Showdown. The topic for September was epidemiology. Nayva also had a big win at the state science fair recently. A win that got her selected as a member of the Top 300 MASTERS in the Broadcom MASTERS national middle school science competition.

SCIENCE FAIR:
Staying with Science Fair news …a reminder that Oct. 5 is the deadline to turn in your paperwork for FSA’s science fair. The school-wide science and engineering fair will be virtual! It is Open to students in 6th through 12th grade. Students will complete work individually at home and Projects will be presented in a virtual format and displayed in the school hallways. SOCIAL ACTION CLUB:
There’s a new club on campus and they are asking you to lend a hand by writing a letter. The Social Actions Club would like to invite you to write a letter thanking a healthcare worker at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital for all that they are doing. You have until December 18 to write your letter. You can submit your letter via email to the club. For more information please email the club at [email protected], it is the same email to submit your letter. “WALK THE PLANK!” Just before fall break elementary students celebrated international talk like a pirates day. Not only did students and staff dress and talk like a pirate… they also had activities surrounding the theme… here’s a quick look at some of the mini pirates and how they ā€œwalked the plankā€

VOLLEYBALL SENIOR NIGHT:
Monday October 5th is volleyball senior night. So if you can, come out and show your support for our seniors. It is also the final home match of the regular season for the varsity team.
