TOP STORY: Even though the FUlton Science Academywas on fall break there was still a little buzz on campus. Students who opted to participate in the SAT campus day got a chance to take the SAT exam on campus. This was arranged by the Assistant Principal for High School Mr. Parlak in partnership with the College Board. 33 students sat for the exam covering Math , Reading, writing and language, with only five staying for the Essay. The students all complied with FSA’s Covid regulations when taking the exam.

STORY 2: The class of 2021 got a chance to test out the courtyard area as they waited to get their senior portraits done. After taking the SAT exam they took the opportunity to relax on the turf and take in the new expansion. Once it was their turn, they stepped into the HIgh School hangout and smiled for the camera as their class of 2021 senior portraits got snapped. Taking a page out of the class of 2020’s book…this graduating class is embracing the unknowns with Covid and it is full steam ahead for their senior experience.

STORY 3: It’s voting week for high school student council representatives. This week, the candidates will present their speeches on their college prep day. On Monday, seniors Tuesday – juniors, Wednesday – sophomores, and Thursday – freshmen. Following the speech presentation by the candidates, Ms. Agha will share a voting link immediately after for their peers to cast their vote. At the end of the week the results will be announced. The FINAL student council group, will comprise of 2 representatives per grade, for a total of 8 students. Depending on the vote count, the counselor may consider 3 representatives per grade, so one could be the designated alternate. Elementary and Middle school are also selecting their student council bodies as well. Mustang News will check in with Mrs. Lyle and Mrs. Beck and will have the results for you on Thursday.

STORY 4: The rankings for the Georgia Independent School Association’s State Tournament are in and the Lady Mustangs Varsity team is going in as a number 4 seed. The top 8 teams will go to the State tournament This is new for 2020-2021, last year the team was ranked #8 while in 2018-2019 they were unranked. STORY 5: We have been welcoming students back on campus over the past few weeks. Today joining us are our high school students. Just like middle school no lockers will be in use and students need to carry their materials with them at all times. Be prepared when coming to school- make sure to bring your lunch, all material and assignments. Parents, you are reminded that there should be no deliveries to students during the school day.
